About our Character
Jib-kun lived for a hundred years in the deep forests of Japan. He was still young, since his kind typically lived to around 500. Though Jib-kun had never met another like him, he was certainly not alone in the forest. He lived side by side with the trees and animals. His life was simple, napping during the day and eating moss scraped from the forest floor. Now, obviously animals don't talk, so one may wonder about companionship. Jib-kun possessed a unique ability to change his skin color to create images on his belly. Using these images, he was able to communicate with the other creatures of the forest. Squirrels, birds, and bears all loved to look at the wonderful images he created on his belly. At times he entertained the forest creatures; at other times, for laughs, he played tricks, like surprising young worms with a big image of a bird! But still, being a teenager, he always wondered about what more might be outside of his small forest world.
One day a TV production crew came to the forest and Jib, overwhelmed by curiosity, sneaked inside the truck and was amazed at the TV monitors and technology inside. He also found in that truck a new favorite food, chocolate. Passing out inside the production truck, he unknowingly stowed away on a trip back to jib Headquarters. He awoke in a new world. Everything was new to him, pens, paper, computers, televisions even carpeting, which he mistook for moss and chewed up a bit. The office was filled with so many new colors, shapes and objects. Though born in Japan, Jib-kun saw on the broadcast monitors in the office a whole country unexplored by him. The real wonder came when he discovered the Internet. At his fingertips he found a limitless world to see and learn about, across Japan and across the globe.
Jib-kun watched and learned more and more about his office mates during the day and ran free through the office at night. Of course, moss was hard to come by in the office, although once behind the refrigerator he found some passable growth. Instead, he now had a steady diet of left over souvenirs brought from various filming locations across Japan. It was while munching on some left over raisin butter sandwiches from Hokkaido that he fell asleep in the office. He woke up in the morning to the stunned faces of about 20 office staff. His first words were "Jib... Jib." He was hired by the office to appraise and finish all of the leftover food souvenirs in the office and lives in a remodeled storage cabinet. He helps around the office and is always studying the jibtv streaming content, learning more about the world around him. He uses the Internet quite proficiently now, often looking on the Internet for information about Japan and other creatures like himself.
And although he never had a family in the forest, he has become an important member of the jibtv family.
